ANALYZING THE STORY OF TAHIR AND ZUHRA IN THE CONTEXT OF REWRITING

Abstract

One of the important products of oral culture is folk tales. Folk tales, which have an important structure in Turkish folk literature from the past to the present, have largely reflected the Turkish culture. One of these folk tales is Tahir and Zuhre. The story of Tahir and Zuhre is one of the most studied folk tales. Fikret Turkmen included all variants of the story Tahir and Zuhre in his work. Our work is also shaped on the rewriting of Tahir and Zuhre. In this study, the rewriting of the story Tahir and Zuhre, written by Saliha Yavas Degirmenci, was examined. In the context of rewriting, the episodes and motifs of the story were examined.
